My Nominations For The 2008 Edublog Awards.

November 27, 2008

The 2008 Edublog Awards nominations have begun and I’m going to nominate the Social Media & PR across Asia wiki to win in the “best educational wiki” category. 🙂

Like how my professor Michael Netzley puts it, it is a great site for a Swedish businessman in Singapore who wants to find out more about communications in China, etc. The best part is that it was put together by students and I’ve gotten feedback on how useful it is to business practitioners.

Simple Dinner Affair At Home.

November 25, 2008

I’ve been missing a lot of home-cooked food for the last month so I was delighted to finally tuck into one this week. 🙂

Prawns and spring onions in a ‘crab’-chilli sauce.

Deep fried fish-wasn’t entirely pleasant for me as I kept getting tiny bones stuck between my teeth.

Fried Kangkong and bean sprouts with garlic and sliced chilli.

I’ve got love in my tummy.

Yong He Eating House At Geylang, Singapore.

November 24, 2008

After an album showcase by pop singer JJ Lin last night, my parents and I headed down to Geylang’s Yong He Eating House for some Taiwanese supper, which is open 24 hours a day. It is located at the corner of Geylang Lor 27A. The food there was seriously awesome, I went to bed a happy girl.

The shop at 10pm.

Sweet beancurd with peanuts.

Delicious and freshly made fried youtiao.

Savory glutinous rice cake, with pork floss and preserved radish on the inside.

I think this marks the beginning of my Geyland food adventure. Also, I am now all the more excited for the true and authentic Taiwanese food when I visit Taipei in December. 🙂

Yummy thoughts running wild in my head.

Deep Fried Baby Squid.

These beauties were so delicious. Sweet and sour, crispy and bouncy, and the onions and sesame seeds added a nice crunch to the dish. 😛

The Coffee Connoisseur’s (TCC) Pumpkin Cheesecake.

November 19, 2008

My dear friend Yixiao; who’s a fellow food blogger, so kindly shared her TCC Pumpkin Cheesecake with me yesterday. It was my second last class (ever) in SMU

The cake was so soft, moist, and it melted in my mouth. Its sweetness comes from the pumpkin’s natural sugar and it felt so good sitting on my tongue. Mmmmm…I want to attempt to bake this in 2 weeks after my exams!

My First Meet Up With Blogger Friend – Sherene Tan.

November 7, 2008

I love how my online conversations translate into offline and personal ones. 🙂 I really appreciate Sherene meeting me that day, because I know the value of her time back here visiting Singapore.

Our meet up at my favourite Starbucks at Raffles City (the one facing Chijmes).

She’s flying back this Saturday already, bon voyage my dear!
