Kitchen Designing In The Process.

December 21, 2008

My new home is in the process of being designed by my mum and I. I am most excited about how the kitchen would turn out. We are now awaiting the 3-dimensional mock up from our designer and this photo I found off the web best describes my new kitchen. 🙂

My kitchen would have a dark tiled floor and a similar white kitchen top. The wood grain laminate on the cabinets would be of a darker zebra tone, in a horizontal fashion and without any metal handles protruding. My kitchen would have an ‘island-like’ work counter in an ‘L’ shape format, that connects to the stove. There would be a glass panel below the top-tier cabinet to allow for us to use markers to write recipes or notes.

I am ecstatic, too excited to cook and bake in this new kitchen of mine. Just a mere three months to go. Breathe.

p/s: I find this New York kitchen design really awesome too. Check out that fireplace in the middle of the room. Awesomeness!

Sorry For The Lack Of Foodie Entries.

May 2, 2008

It is 2:40am on a Saturday morning and I’m still up doing some work, so please pardon the lack of entries on my part.

I’ve gotten back from Bangkok this Monday with many pictures of Thai food and I can’t wait to share them with you all. 🙂 Although I fell ill at Bangkok (high fever, tummy aches, flu, cough, headaches, etc), I still got to try some delicious Thai food. Although I didn’t have much of an appetite; because I was feeling under the weather, I had made the best out of my 5-day trip in Bangkok.

A special thanks to my boyfriend who took care of me. I declare you a true blue shopaholic.

Off To Bangkok For 5 Days.

April 23, 2008

Hey all, I’d be going on a holiday to Bangkok Thailand, which means heaps of delicious food and plenty of shopping. I can’t wait to share my experiences with every one. 🙂

I’m leaving tomorrow and will be back on Monday. Woohoo! 😀

Dinner Photos With My Dear Fuji Finepix F31.

April 18, 2008

I finally had my fixed up Fuji Finepix F31 camera delivered to my place this evening! 🙂 And I just had to use it to snap away at my dinner. I was so close to kissing my camera, heh.

A huge bowl of carrot, potato & onion soup in our pressure cooker plus my mum’s hand. 🙂

Sesame chicken, stir-fried with ginger and spring onions.

Prawns and onions in a super spicy sweet and sour sauce. It was my favourite dish tonight.

Dinner isn’t complete without a vegetable dish. Spinich with chilli-padi.

😀 I am so happy I got back my fabulous camera.

McDelivery Your McGriddles Breakfast.

April 12, 2008

McDonald’s has finally started to market the arrival of their halal McGriddles burger in Singapore. This was done through their McDelivery website and through a TV commercial (can’t seem to find it off YouTube yet). So now, you no longer need to feel insecure when you want to order this burger. 🙂

I learned from Brenda that a lot of the boys in my school are crazy over the McGriddles burger. One of them have no problem dipping this sweet and savoury burger into chilli sauce; which I totally cannot come to terms with. I’ve even got a classmate who ate 3 burgers the moment he had learned of it arriving in Singapore. You can read more about my review on the McGriddles burger here.

Whatever your verdict is on the McGriddles, its always good to have something new on the tried and tested McDonald’s menu. 🙂

Goodbye Frujch.

April 4, 2008

Today is frujch‘s last day of operation and it ain’t because of bad business. The students of this SMU student-run-cafe are graduating (my seniors) and I’m going to miss them and the food so much. 😦 Especially so for Nabilah and the ‘Rosemary Me?’ grilled sandwich.

The worse part is, I could not make it down for tonight’s farewell party because of a busy schedule. However, I will be at frujch next friday for an unofficial last visit – Pecha Kucha Night. Daryl will be presenting then, can’t wait. 🙂

My SMU Campus Radio Interview.

April 1, 2008

As mentioned in one of my earlier post, Jacqueline, Nabilah and Calin and I had an audio interview with Daryl. Due to copyright issues, Daryl had to cut out the music portions of the interview, but you can still listen to our thoughts and discussions on social media and blogging here!

From left: Calin, me, Daryl, Jacqueline and Nabilah.

Feel free to share with me your views on this topic. 🙂

Thank you once again for this Daryl.

My First Guest Blog!

March 31, 2008

😀 I’m all smiles right now. I had the honour of getting Sherene to guest blog for me previously. So when she asked me to guest blog for her, it was a definite yes.

Check out Sherene’s post here. Thanks Sherene! 🙂

Man Chokes To Death On 5 Cupcakes.

February 26, 2008

The article by The Age reported this:

Source: Live News

A man choked to death after gorging on cupcakes at a nightclub party in South Wales.

Adam Deeley, 34, collapsed after he began choking when five cupcakes got stuck in his throat.

Fellow revellers and nightclub staff tried to revive him, but were unable to clear his airways.

Deeley and a group of friends decided to stage a cupcake eating competition at the end of a party on Friday after discovering leftover buffet food.

“Quite a spread had been laid on and when the party finished there was quite a lot left over,” one guest told The Sun newspaper.

“Someone suggested seeing how quickly they could eat the mound of fairy cakes that were left. But suddenly someone started choking.”

This is so sad, the guy was only in his thirties. However it was not the fault of the cupcakes, it was the fault of that sudden moment of stupidity that led to the playing of this fatel game.
